Board Connections – Agencies

VMC recruits and trains management-level and above individuals who want to serve on a not-for-profit board. We then act as "match-makers," connecting not-for-profits to their ideal board candidates. All Board Connection candidates have attended our board orientation workshop, which provides them with an overview of not-for-profits and an understanding of board and individual board member responsibilities. Call Joanne Kobus at 973 538-7200 ext 17 or e-mail jkobus@vmcnj.org with any questions.

VMC's Board Connections program will help you promote your board member vacancies.

Board Connections candidates are actively seeking not-for-profit boards on which to serve. These prospective volunteers regularly review agency board profiles such as yours and are most attracted to organization profiles that are current and have complete information.

Prospective board candidates fill out a survey and post their resume, providing information about their interests, background and skills.

By posting your agency’s information and board needs on this site, potential candidates can review the information to determine if your agency would be of interest to them.

When a board candidate expresses an interest in your agency, you will receive an email with the candidate’s information and resume.  Please respond via email in a timely manner and insure that the information about the candidate is shared/forwarded to the correct contact in your organization, whether it be the board president, nominating chair, executive director or volunteer director.

VMC will also actively review candidate’s information to help match candidates and agencies and will be readily available to facilitate the match and answer any questions that you may have.

VMC requests you forward ten copies of your agency brochures to our office so that we may share them with prospective board volunteers and display them during VMC’s board training programs and orientations.

Final board determination will always be between the agency and the volunteer.
