Business Services

There are many ways that VMC can help your business:

Find projects with maximum community impact for your volunteer groups

Civic-minded companies support employee volunteer service as an integral part of doing business in any community. Since 2004, more than 100 companies have partnered with VMC, enabling tens of thousands of corporate volunteers to be placed in meaningful projects in nearby charitable organizations.

VMC can partner with your company and match your volunteers to projects with maximum community impact, aligned with your corporate priorities.  We also enable team building projects throughout New Jersey and provide needed logistical and coordination support.

VMC recognizes that corporate volunteer programs have unique needs and provides expertise in the following key areas:

  • Screening agencies and projects for best fit and maximum impact
  • Identifying large-scale projects and/or multi-site and multi-day projects
  • Providing logistical and coordination support
  • Identifying community leadership opportunities
  • Creating avenues for volunteer and corporate recognition in the community

Group Volunteerism Support

VMC reaches out to non-profit organizations throughout northern and central New Jersey to ascertain their potential volunteer projects.  We post those opportunities on two websites FREE to agencies, businesses and service organizations so that groups can find needy causes and vice versa.  In addition, VMC offers complete business services from project brainstorming, finding worthy/appropriate projects, procedures for effective project execution, to implementing the program. For information on more tailored assistance and our corporate group fees, please click here.

To get started, fill out the Questionnaire for Volunteer Groups and fax it to Leslie Lebow at 973-984-7658.  If you have questions about group projects, you can contact Leslie at 973-538-7200 Ext. 13, or email her at llebow@vmcnj.org.

Prepare your executives for non-profit leadership roles

VMC’s Board Connections program recruits individuals with management skills who want to serve on a non-profit board.  We can prepare your executives for nonprofit leadership roles through our orientation workshops, which provide them with an overview of non-profits and an understanding of board members’ roles and responsibilities.  We then match those executives with nonprofit board opportunities.

Prospective board candidates fill out a survey and post their resume, providing information about their interests, background and skills. VMC will actively review candidates’ information to help match candidates and agencies.  We are readily available to facilitate the match and answer any questions that you may have.  Final board determination will always be between the agency and the volunteer.

Dynamic, well-trained individuals devoted to the non-profit world are in demand for boards.  Let VMC help you find you perfect board position.
