We Have a Present for You! We're Making Volunteer Matches Easier and More Personalized!
“Now, more than ever, volunteers are an indispensable anchor of every community’s infrastructure” - Volunteering in America. VMC is at the very heart of connecting volunteers and organizations to serve our community needs. As we continue to bring you the best possible tools and resources, we also strive to make the process easier and more efficient so you spend less time searching and more time volunteering.
Along the way, we also discovered that not everything can become automated. And so, thanks to better staffing and an increase in volunteers, VMC is now able to offer you more complete volunteer-match services. What does this mean? No more hours spent posting (and reposting) on line. No more lost passwords. No more endless searches. No more tedious follow-up.
In order to make a smooth transition to our new search engine, we need to start fresh with your information. If you are an agency seeking volunteers, click on the yellow box to the right, fill out our Volunteer Opportunity Form, and simply email or fax it to us.
If you are an individual looking to volunteer, click on the blue box to the right to start your volunteer search.
Personalized assistance for both volunteers and agencies is available from Leslie Lebow. Call her at 973-538-7200 ext. 13 or e-mail her at llebow@vmcnj.org. After all, the right volunteer-agency “match” works best with that human touch!
Non-Profit Services
VMC offers numerous services to non-profits. We can help you:
VMC Can Fill Your Volunteer Positions
Does your non-profit organization need help in recruiting volunteers? VMC can link your agency to our FREE interactive, online network of potential volunteers. You can list all of your volunteer opportunities in one database accessible to thousands of volunteer candidates. Powerful administrative tools track the success of your web efforts, and reduce internal paperwork by registering volunteers directly online. You can also track your volunteers' hours, and easily add or update your agency information and opportunities right online. To register and start finding volunteers, use the Agency Registration form to the right.

Group Projects
VMC reaches out to non-profit organizations throughout northern New Jersey to assist with their volunteer projects. We post those opportunities on two websites FREE to agencies, businesses and service organizations so that groups can find needy causes and vice versa.
To best serve your group volunteer needs, fill out the Group Project questionnaire to tell us about your project and then fax it to Leslie Lebow at 973-984-7658. If you have questions about Group Projects, you can contact Leslie at 973-538-7200 Ext. 13, or email her at llebow@vmcnj.org.

Need Board Candidates?
VMC’s Board Connections program recruits and trains individuals with management skills who want to serve on a non-profit board. We also connect non-profits to their ideal board candidates. All Board Connections candidates have the opportunity to attend our orientation workshops, which provide them with an overview of non-profits and an understanding of board members’ roles and responsibilities.
VMC will help you promote your board member vacancies to Board Connections candidates who are actively seeking non-profit boards on which to serve. By posting your agency’s needs, potential candidates can review the information to determine if your agency would be of interest to them.
Prospective board candidates fill out a survey and post their resume, providing information about their interests, background and skills. When a board candidate expresses an interest in your agency, you will receive an email with their information and resume. VMC will also actively review candidates’ information to help match candidates and agencies and will be readily available to facilitate the match and answer any questions that you may have. Final board determination will always be between the agency and the volunteer.
Let us help you fill your board vacancies with dynamic, well-trained individuals devoted to the non-profit world. For more information, contact Carol McKinney at 973-538-7200 Ext. 15, or email at cmckinney@vmcnj.org.
